Reflect on what you have learned about visual arts elements and principles, analyzing the art of professional artists, and using children's picture book illustrators as an entrance to both understanding and making art. Line shape color value texture space
This was one of my favorite lessons to present as well as learn about. I am no artist but I love to try and do art even if i am not very good. Learing about the different elements of art was also really beneficial and just a fun activity to do as adults I can't imagine that it wouldn't be just as fun for Students. It was also really great to learn about all the different children's picture book illustrators, since that day everytime i go to the library i go and look at the picture books to see if i can find more illustrators that i like. My new favorite illustrator from this experience is Stephen Gammell. The way he uses paint and colored pencils to depict the stories that authors write is truly amazing i am in awe every time i find a different book of his that i haven't seen before. He and many other illustrators are definately going to be introduced to my students because everyone can do art everyone. That is also something that i have learned from this experience it doesn't matter if you are good or bad what matters is that you try and in the end it usually is great :)

Reflection #4
After reading the text, working with music in class, and preparing your group presentation. What are your thoughts about using music in the classroom and particularly, how do you want to use music in your classroom?
Music is one of the easiest fine arts elements to incorporate in your classroom. Most schools have the students put on at least one musical program a year and that takes practices and other things rehersals like that. I also think that there needs to be music on in the classroom just to have some noise other then talking and other things like that. Classical music in the background during silent work and other times when it will be appropriate just to stimulate the students minds. Music i s a big part of anyones life even if it is just having them listen to the radio so introducing educational and many different types of music to broaden the students understanding and maybe respect of the different types of music there are out there for everyone to listen to.

Field experience
This has been one of the best experiences of my life. My partner was great and we worked so well together. The kids were so eager to learn and they really are bright kids that it was really great to work with them and get to know them. The teacher whose class we are in is just amazing i can't think of anyone better for my first field experience. These children also really enjoy doing art so it is a good thing we had Art this semester because they have had to dance, sing, and draw so many different things it is amazing what they can come up with. I am not excited to leave and come back to class i really wish i could stay there and just spend more time with them.

Reflection 3
Think about the reading and the activities we did in class, as well as your own experience with dance in elementary school. Think about how this approach to childrens' creative dance might be different than studio dance (jazz, ballet, hip hop, etc.) or social dance - why do you think children's dance specialists might focus more on childrens' creative dance for education? How do you think you might use dance in your own teaching?
I actually enjoyed what we were doing in class i love playing around with those fun ribbon things and making a shape and story as a group. It really gets my creative juices flowing! I really don't remember ever dancing in school as a kid and now that i look back on it it kind of makes me sad because i really love dance and everything that comes with it i just wish i could dance better more like ballet and hip hop then just blah. But by doing things creatively and open in my class will get the kids becoming more creative and also just get the wiggles out so we can finish something like a math test or whatever we were working on and having a hard time focusing on. Dance will also be a good way to do vocabulary and reading overview just like drama. If we focus more on creative dance for education we are not hindering or mind tunneling their thoughts about dance and how society thinks it should be we are expanding their horizons and showing that everyone can dance. I am going to use dance in many different ways including to get them back focused and as fun exercise activities that everyone can participate and be good at instead of like some sports where some will be better then others. With creative dance everyone is good.

Reflection 2
The new perspectives i have gained about drama is that it is not all about theatre and plays and things like that. It can be just a little freeze frame or other silly games like that. I also found out that it is not as hard as i thought it would be to actually use some of these techniques. I will use drama to bring what i am teaching to life how i will use it is in the only way i know how just find a topic and connect it using a dramatic feature. The activities i will use most are the freeze frame idea that i thought was brilliant, the role playing with different groups with spokes people from each group, charades, and other things like that. I think integrating drama and curriculum is important because if it helps the kids learn the material better as well as get out of their seats and get rid of some energy constructively i am all for it. For example to study vocabulary we can have a charade lessen where they act out what each word means and then they quiz each other on how to spell it and things like that as well as getting through a novel as a class and actually remembering what they have read which was always a hard area for me. I think if we would have acted it out or did things like that then it would have been easier for me to remember and learn the books that we were working on in class.

Week 1 post
Reflection #1
Think about what you have learned so far through reading, discussion and class activities and reflect on how your ideas might have changed, things you want to learn about teaching (with, in, about, through) the arts, and why they are important in the education of every child
What i have learned from using the arts is that if i gradually learn how to use art in the with, in, about, and through methods i can get their attention grabbed and they will be learning in every way they can, i will also be helping them use their higher thinking levels to get all the information in. This is important to child education because then they get to learn to be creative and they begin making their individual creativity and personality begin. My idea have changed because i am not a big art person but this taught me that i can use it and gradually get my abilities up where they need to be to teach the kids efficiently.
